Cherny First Democrat to Take to Airwaves

July 18, 2012

Former Clinton White House aide Andrei Cherny is the first Democrat to release a television spot in Arizona's Ninth Congressional District -- just a day after earning the endorsement of President Bill Clinton.

The spot, "Team," is narrated by former Attorney General Terry Goddard, and showcases Cherny's ability to work from humble roots to build a record of winning real results for middle class families.

Cherny raised more than $730,000 through June 30, and although his campaign began its paid communications program weeks ago, he holds more cash-on-hand than his two opponents combined.

'Team' Script

TERRY GODDARD:  From the son of immigrants living in a small apartment to working in the White House, Andrei Cherny worked with President Clinton on the team that improved education and created millions of jobs.  Cherny fought Bush's plan to privatize Social Security. He advised President Obama.  And he fought for the middle class against the Wall Street lobbyists.  That's why Bill Clinton supports Andrei Cherny for Congress.  And so do I.

ANDREI CHERNY:  I'm Andrei Cherny and I approved this message.
