Nowakowski Endorses Cherny for Congress

May 2, 2012

PHOENIX – Phoenix City Councilman Michael Nowakowski endorsed former Clinton White House official Andrei Cherny for Congress today, explaining that he is the best person to fight for Hispanic and middle-class families.

“Andrei Cherny grew up the son of immigrants who didn’t speak much English, and he understands what it’s like for parents to work two jobs to make ends meet,” said Nowakowski.  “I know Andrei will continue to do great things for working families because he shares our values – and he’ll fight for us in Congress.”

In addition to serving on the Phoenix City Council, Nowakowski is the vice president of communications for Radio Campesina, a network of nonprofit Spanish-language radio stations.

Cherny said he’s proud to have Nowakowski's support.

“Having the backing of such strong, well-respected Arizona leader is an honor,” he said. “I look forward to continuing to work with Councilman Nowakowski to rebuild America’s middle class.”
